MasterFibre
Pty Ltd is an Australian company with international
affiliates. For the past twenty years it has been
a world leader in the research development and manufacture
of products from recycled tyre rubber.
The company was initially formed to develop useful
products out of a universal environmental hazard,
found to provide superior safety surface benefits.
Over the next ten years the safety surfacing application
was refined and now has a wide range of application
in playgrounds, skate parks, on potentially hazardous
or sloping walkways, deteriorating wooden surfaces,
steps and other areas where public liability may be
an issue. The MasterFibre softfall surfacing system
for playgrounds has been rigorously tested and conforms
to the relevant Australian standards.
MasterFibre also works closely with many of the local
government departments throughout Queensland, for
example Brisbane City Council, where MasterFibre has
installed safety surfacing at parks such as the Rocks
Riverside Park at Seventeen Mile Rocks, Svoboda Park
Kuraby and Decker Park at Brighton.
Each year in Australia, over 18 million used car tyres
are discarded. Products and processes developed by
MasterFibre are playing their part in producing functional
and attractive products from recycled tyres, which
are making a substantial contribution in helping eliminate
the world wide environmental headache of used tyre
disposal.
Every standard used car tyre can produce 4.5kg of
reusable rubber and the following table demonstrates
just how Masterfibre products can turn an environmental
problem of highly functional and attractive products.
The problem of used car tyre disposal is a problem
worldwide of major environmental significance (Extract:
Brisbane Courier Mail 14th January, 1996), and we
at MasterFibre are proud to be addressing this situation
in Australia and many countries around the world.
